"The Elephants Child" starring Matthew

Ok - not starring Matthew but he was in it. "The Elephants Child" is a story about how elephants got their trunks. A curious little elephant wants to know what a crocodile eats for dinner. She goes on an adventure and finds the crocodile to ask him what he eats for dinner. The crocodile tells her to come closer and grabs on to her nose. She pulls and pulls and all of her friends come and pull and pull and free her from the crocodile. Now she has a long nose.

This is the first play the elementary school has done and it originally was only open to the 4th and 5th graders to sign up for it. At the last minute they opened it up to 3rd graders and Matthew was SUPER excited about it. On the first day of practice, Matthew explained that he didn't want a speaking part because he wanted to do more of the "acting". So, I think he was a little disappointed to be the drummer and part of the choir but it was perfect for his first play. They practiced hard for 2 months and then we enjoyed the production this last Tuesday. They did a fantastic job! Matthew of course was so cute!
(So of course this post has been sitting here waiting for almost a week to post and I can't get my video to work. I will have to post without and hopefully get the video up later this week. So frustrating!)
